210.24 Branch-Circuit Requirements — Summary. This does not need much of an explanation. It looks at other articles to gather the requirements. These requirements were slowing over time added and its through this change that we add value to this (our) code. Branch circuits are just a small article in this book but out of all of the article we see outlets and touch switches on the daily. My wife complains constantly about not having enough light, outlets you name it. That’s beside the point, what I am saying is electrical power needs to be have rules on how we distribute it about the dwelling. If not it becomes chaos.

Another thought about this subject is when its to much. Yes we don’t want to see wires everywhere, but when is it enough. I am electrian and I can install devices all over my house with regardless abandonment, but I don’t. Yes my family complains and even refers to me being an electrician. But I know that the outlets near a bed in today’s world is a necessity. Forget a table lamp light for the bedroom night table, we are talking about chargers. Let’s start phone(most important) or phones if you have more then one, watch, and headphones are the ones that come to mind but if your like me and read then you need to power the lamp, then the charger for the computer of your choice, and if not then what ever device you need to complete the tasks that you need a smart device that does not have to be your phone. The situation is endless because not every human is the same and not every situation is the same. So counting just the basic’s were are talking about 6 single outlets. 6!!!!!! Well I have seen countless night table organizers, one better then the other. And this is the real world solution to what we need so not to install 6 outlets behind the bed one for every device that needs power. What I feel is a amazing idea are those device that use USB and Mini USB plugs is the adapters that have more then one low voltage plug. More like six. My wife has one and that is full. I even went as far as to make a whole in my night stand to install a wireless charger for my phone.

So good luck and be forewarned that if you go up this road of installing outlets behind outlets everywhere in your house because you figured out how to do one and figure you can get away with installing them everywhere you need one then your in for a ugly house with problems of tripped breakers, when one out does not work were does the power come from, and I will go as far as you extended family asking you for the favor of installing outlets in there house because you do such a wonderful job!!!!!
